thank god netflix finally came

did you know that 48 HRS is pretty awful? well, now you do. lucky for me it was watchable-awful because of cool hand luke references and eddie murphy's occasional humorous interjections, but honestly, nick nolte (yes, the man who is a coffee-table in charades) is such and awful 'actor.' next up i have here in my little paws My Fair Lady and The 25th hour, plus this weekend the film society is showing The Interpreter. we're also showing Sin City, but i choose not to categorize that as a film so much as a blasphemous atrocity that should never see the inside of a projector.
speaking of film society: so i'm going to show Shot Glass before some showing this semester, however since i am vice president, i get to start a little section of the club dedicated to showing different student films before our features. yay to me. also, i'm going to show Shot Glass to a couple of my teachers.
ooh, so the cameras we can borrow from wellesley for fil production are so nice. i want one... i'm drooling. daddy, i want a sony! so this self-portrait i have to do-- it's a VIDEO, since this is a VIDEO PRODUCTION class, and i don't know what to do. it has to be an in-camera edit so i have to film it in sequential order. but, get this: I DON'T HAVE TO BE IN IT. score! that sentence definitely deserves those capital letters. so i need ideas, people, because all the stuff i think of is impossible to camera-edit.
sunday i'm going out to lunch with some people i'm distantly related to and have apparently met. free meal!
i should get my hair cut this weekend.
it rained incredibly hard today.
i find out if i got elected food rep tomorrow. fingers crossed...
vegan fajitas for dinner! so tasty... i'm pretty much vegan now, though not by choice, save the occasional milk in the cereal. i eat basically the same stuff every day. but i did buy some soup at cvs today!
speaking of cvs, you want to know what else is an atrocity? they don't have time magazine at cvs.
i am thisclose to finishing the sunday new york times crossword. i only had to google like five answers. sometimes my intelligence really blows me away. i can't wait for this sunday so i can see the answers and get a new one. nana should be proud!

Dahlink! Everyone should have a Sony!

So what kind of Sony is it? I have two working kidneys so selling one on Ebay should buy a heap of gear. And with the leftover proceeds from the organ auction we'll get you a Mac with dual screens, a brace of Sennheiser mics, a real Steadicam and a catering truck. FOr your video, go to the cafeteria and ask if you can film people eating. Yeah! I think it's Oscar material, Oscar Meyer. the old Geezer Gaffer

I am so glad to hear your opinion on Sin City. I sat through the entire thing, unfortunately, and had nightmares for week. What a horrible, horrible film!

Anyways, what if, since you don't have to be in the film, what if you shot it as though the viewer were looking through your eyes as you went about some daily activity? Maybe that's sort of cliche- but since i'm not a filmmaker, I woudln't know. Good luck! It sounds like a fun assignment.
